چکیده

ABSTRACT Improper design and management of the cover layer a sanitary landfill has been proven to produce harmful environmental impacts on environment. One alternative at hand is develop scenarios based simulation physical computational models represent expected field water balance coverage layer. This paper investigates final in municipality Seropédica, which located state Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. More specifically, compact soil coverage, widely used for municipal solid waste, evaluated contrast vegetation by grass, brachiaria capillary barrier. To accomplish such task, hydrometeorological forcing conditions, namely daily rainfall temperature, were retrieved from Anchieta weather station, situated nearby study area. The Hydrus 1D 2/3 D codes employed set follow contamination plume evolution within along time frame 20 years with some degree reliability. It should be noted that performed evaluation indicates possibility control leachate release consequently avoid contaminating environment, notably prevent resources pollution. Vegetation grass showed important mechanisms respect movement contaminant plume. In addition, it noticed best results achieved barrier, while poor performance obtained commonly soil.

Uncertainties regarding dengue modeling in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Dengue fever is currently the most important arthropod-borne viral disease in Brazil. Mathematical modeling of disease dynamics is a very useful tool for the evaluation of control measures. To be used in decision-making, however, a mathematical model must be carefully parameterized and validated with epidemiological and entomological data. In this work, we developed a simple dengue model to ans...
